Brief

Alicia was the lead facilitator, creative director and lead content creator for WHOLE, an ephemeral sensory experience crafted by a collective of creatives and truthseekers. In partnership with the organization All* Above All, Alicia worked on the project alongside friend and colleague Priya Parker, gathering reproductive justice “Visioners” in a purposeful and restorative practice of articulating the world we want.

Alicia became lead facilitator and had the vision to express those dreams through a 5-track audiovisual album, narrative and audiobook exploring our origins, bodies, relationships, communities and futures in a liberated world that Centers Blackness. The video tracks were produced by Gumbo Media with audio by You Had Me At Black.

WHOLE transports us to a space and time where Black wombed bodies are free and all of us experience the fullness of life on our own terms. With companion guides and toolkits, WHOLE encourages individuals and groups to engage in their own visioning and practice of liberation. Alicia and the Visioners launched WHOLE with a series of screenings across the country where communities could experience it live. WHOLE is an embodiment of Alicia’s belief in imagining, experiencing and enjoying the liberated futures we want to live in.
